GICON Group at the 25th Annual Hanse Sail in Rostock

GICON, IfAÖ and ESG greet 60 guests for a cruise on the hanseatic cog Wissemara

On 8 August 2015, it was that time once again. The record number of 240 vessels gathered for the traditional Saturday evening cruise at the Hanse Sail on the Warnow River. As usual, the GICON Group was represented with the Wissemara, a replica of a hanseatic cog from the 14th century.

On the chartered ship, the roughly 60 guests were able to experience a thoroughly enjoyable evening program under ideal weather conditions. After the cruise out to the Baltic Sea, the captain again positioned the Wissemara just off of the head of Warnemuende Jetty, the best place to enjoy the fireworks from the sea. Following the fireworks, another spectacular highlight occurred. With loud horn signals and two searchlights, the cruise ship AIDAmar slowly made its way through the many traditional sailing ships - a truly stupendous sight, not only for the participants on the sailing trips, but certainly also for the many passengers on board the AIDAmar, who gazed down in fascination at the many sailboats below.

For the seamless organization, GICON would again like to thank the crew of Wissemara and the Seeperle restaurant in Wismar, who, through their dependably excellent catering, ensured a pleasurable time on board for the guests.

The Hanse Sail Rostock is one of the world's biggest gatherings of traditional sailing and museum ships. Since 1991, the maritime festival has taken place annually on the second weekend of August. About 200 participating ships, together with cruise liners, ferries and naval vessels offer a lively worldwide maritime exhibition. Every year, the event attracts approximately one million visitors.
